Description
Jae Franklin is a multi-hyphenated artist whose voice and original music has garnered over 700,000 views, inciting both fan fervor and critical applause. She is a classically trained vocalist, professional songwriter, music producer, and vocal coach.
Growing up in Houston, TX, USA, she was influenced by her father's love of blues and her mother's affection for contemporary pop and soul music. She began singing in church from a young age, eventually moving on to girl groups joining Girls Tyme with Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland.
She appeared on American Idol and began supporting several artists as a backing vocalist eventually appearing in the movie and soundtrack for the Lionsgate film "I Can Do Bad All By Myself."
No stranger to pop stardom, her talents led her to tour throughout the U.S. with Grammy Award winner Melanie Fiona. Shortly after, she was invited to perform in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a 1 year residency leading to her journey as a solo artist.
She released her debut album, “Cheers to Life,” an album exploring the interconnectedness of everyday people. Her lead single, "Higher" premiered on Afropunk and the full project received worldwide coverage in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Africa.
